Caribbean is pronounced in one of two ways: [ kar-uh–bee–uhn ] or [ kuh–rib-ee-uhn ]. Given all the dialects and languages in the region, pronunciations will vary within the Caribbean itself. Based on the pronunciation of Carib itself, some experts believe the more accurate pronunciation is [ kar-uh–bee–uhn ].
